MARTINEZ, Ga. – Martin Dewald (Mannheim, Germany) was named Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Pitcher of the Week Tuesday (March 9). This is the first such honor for the senior on the year and the first Player of the Week award for Georgia College this season.

The Bobcat reliever-turned-starter is 3-1 on the season. The righty earned the only win for GCSU in the three-game series against No. 27 North Georgia with a complete game shutout. Dewald scattered seven hits and gave up no walks while striking out 10, setting down the side in order twice and only allowing two hits in an inning once. The senior is now 14th in the PBC in strikeouts.

Georgia College hosts Augusta State University Saturday, March 13 at 1 p.m. in a doubleheader at John Kurtz Field.
