Cookie’s Cats Win Game 5, Look to Even GCSU’s Steak Series in Game 6

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Cookie's Cats won Game 5 Friday night (Nov. 13) 11-7 and now one game away from tying Georgia College & State University baseball's Steak Series, 3-2.

Senior Martin Dewald (Mannheim, Germany) got the rare start for the Cats and threw six strong innings. Dewald struck out six, walked two, hit two batters and gave up two runs on three hits.

Senior Andrew Evans (Milledgeville, Ga.), Brett George (Dacula, Ga.) and 2008 All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Designated Hitter Richard Pirkle (Norcross, Ga.) all had three hits for Cookie's Cats. The Cats had two big innings, scoring five runs in the fourth and three in the seventh.

Ammo's Army was led by junior Jason Veyna (Lamar, Colo.) who also had three hits including a pair of doubles.

Game 6 features two juniors on the mound as the Cats' Jason Nicholas (Wright City, Mo.) goes against Ryan Parson (Madison, Ga.) for the Army.
