Former Georgia College Baseball Player Retires as Administrator in McDuffie Schools

THOMSON, Ga. – Former Georgia College baseball player Claude Powell was honored this year by the McDuffie School District, as the Thomson Middle School Principal retired after 39 years of service.

Powell graduated in 1971 from Georgia College after playing baseball, where the article states he earned a tryout with the Baltimore Orioles for his skill at third base.
