MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior centerfielder Sean Harrell (Martinez, Ga.) of the No. 12 Georgia College & State University baseball team (24-10, 12-3 PBC) was named GCSU Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 4. This marks the third such honor for Harrell and the fourth for the Bobcat baseball team this season.
Harrell continues to rip the cover off the ball, as the two-time Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Player of the Week went 14-22 (.636) over the six-game week for the Bobcats. He tallied three home runs, 14 RBI and 13 runs, slugging 1.318 on the week with seven extra-base hits. Five of the six games were multi-hit affairs for the senior, including a 4-for-4 effort Saturday in game one against No. 30 Georgia Southwestern State University, driving in four with four runs scored. He also had a 2-for-4 effort Tuesday against Clark Atlanta University, plating four and scoring once.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, April 10 at 1 p.m., hosting a doubleheader with No. 20 UNC Pembroke at John Kurtz Field. It will be the first of two senior days for the Bobcats, honoring the one- and two-year senior members of the GCSU roster.
