MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior centerfielder Sean Harrell (Martinez, Ga.) of the No. 19 Georgia College & State University baseball team (15-8, 7-2 PBC) was named the most recent GCSU Athlete of the Week Wednesday. It’s the second-straight honor for Harrell and the third for the Bobcat baseball team this season.
The senior began with a 3-for-4 outing and a home run against Lenoir-Rhyne University in a 6-5 loss. Harrell and Georgia College then ended Columbus State University's school-record 21-game winning streak with a 3-for-4 day that featured two home runs. GCSU swept the Cougars on the road as Harrell hit .400 in the series, driving in six. For the week he had three home runs, seven RBI, scored five runs and stole a base. Harrell leads the PBC in hitting and on-base percentage and is third in slugging.
Georgia College takes on Pfeiffer University today at 3 p.m.
