Third Bobcat Baseball Minor League Update for 2009

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - This is the third edition of the 2009 weekly summer report checking on former Georgia College & State University baseball players in the professional ranks.
Michael Antonini (2007)
Relief pitcher for the Binghamton Mets, Double-A
affiliate of the New York Mets ... Has posted a 5-3 mark with a
5.66 ERA and 56 strikeouts over 70 innings ... He came out of the
pen in his last outing, tossing two no-hit innings July 8 in a 6-2
loss to Portland ... The Mets are sixth at 31-54 in the Eastern
League Northern Division.
Brandon Durden (2005)
Starting pitcher for the Modesto Nuts, Single-A affiliate
for the Colorado Rockies, sent down from Double-A Tulsa after going
1-2 with a 4.13 ERA in five appearances ... Has made three starts
since returning to Modesto, including two of six-plus innings ...
Gave up six runs in as many innings in a no-decision July 8 against
Bakersfield ... The Nuts are 4-11 in the second half which puts
them at fifth in the California League North.
Andrew Reichard (2007)
Starting pitcher for the Augusta GreenJackets, from the
Single-A South Atlantic League (SAL) ... 2-2 with an ERA of 3.77
and one save ... Posted 17 strikeouts while only walking one ... On
June 8 went six innings to get the win against the Savannah Sand
Gnats ... Currently on the seven-day disabled list ... Team is
fourth in the SAL Southern Division at 7-7.
Brandon Anderson (2007)
Outfielder for the Kalamazoo Kings of the Frontier
Independent League, chosen to the 17th Annual Frontier
League All-Star Game ... Also an assistant coach at Temple
University ... Leads team in four offensive categories, including
batting average (.325), runs (36), triples (2) and stolen bases
(23) ... Stolen base total is second in the league ... The Kings
lead the East Division with a 29-16 record.
Hans Stancil (2007)
Joins Anderson on the Kalamazoo Kings, playing third base
... Appeared in 29 games ... Batting .160 ... Four of his eight
hits are doubles ... Has five stolen bases which is tied for fifth
on the team.
Pete Paris (2009)
Catcher for the River City Rascals ... Batting .344 in 16
games ... Has 11 hits, three doubles and six RBI ... Has yet to
commit an error on the season ... The Rascals lead the West
Division with a 27-17 mark.
Sean Heimpel (2007)
Pitcher for the Washington Wild Things ... Has pitched in
10 games posting a 1-5 record ... Has an ERA of 9.25 in 36 innings
of play and 19 strikeouts ... Team is fifth (19-26) in the East
Division.
