Ninth Bobcat Baseball Minor League Update

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - This is the ninth edition of the 2008 weekly summer report checking on former Georgia College & State University baseball players in the professional ranks.

Christian Castorri (2006)
Starting pitcher for the Altoona Curve (Altoona, Pa.) Double-A squad with the Pittsburgh Pirates ... 3-4 with a 5.28 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 75 innings of work overall this season, with a 1-3 mark, two saves and a 6.66 ERA at Altoona ... Grabbed his first career Double-A win Aug. 7 against Harrisburg, went five innings while giving up three runs in only his third start of the year ... Team is 65-77, currently fifth in the Eastern League Southern Division.

Michael Antonini (2007)
Starting pitcher for the Binghamton Mets (Binghamton, N.Y.) Double-A squad affiliated with the New York Mets ... Has gone 1-3 with a 3.74 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 45.2 innings of work since the call up ... Lost on Sept. 1 against New Britain Rock Cats, ... Team is currently 73-69 and currently third in the Eastern League Northern Division.

Brandon Durden (2005)
Relief pitcher for the Modesto Nuts (Modesto, Calif.) ... Class-A Advanced club affiliated with the Colorado Rockies ... 4-1 with a 5.90 ERA in 28 appearances ... Has 39 strikeouts and 18 walks in 71.2 innings ... Picked up win over Lancaster on Aug. 25,... Team is currently 33-31 in the second half, 67-67 overall, third place in the California League North.

Andy Reichard (2007)
Starting pitcher for the Salem-Kaiser Volcanoes of the Class-A Short Season Northwest League ... Affiliated with the San Francisco Giants ... 3-2 with a 2.84 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 57 innings ... Pitched a no-decision Aug. 25 against Eugene ... Team is currently 38-31, taking over first in the Northwest League West Division.

Brandon Anderson (2007)
Starting outfielder for the Kalamazoo Kings (Kalamazoo, Mich.) ... Independent team that competes in the Frontier League ... Hitting .286 with eight home runs and 32 RBI in 70 games ... Second on the team with 30 stolen bases and first with three triples, also second on team in on-base percentage at .402 ... Has not committed an error in his 70 games, fielding a perfect 1.000 ... Kings are currently 55-33, first in the Frontier League East Division. Anderson was recently named an assistant coach at Temple.

Hans Stancil (2007)
Was picked up by the Nashua Pride last week ...Second baseman for the Pride of the CanAm League...Batting .154 in five games

Sean Heimpel (2008)
Was picked up by the Nashua Pride of the CanAm League last week ...Relief pitchr for the Pride...Has pitched 4 1/3innings striking out five and walking two in four appearances
