MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Wrapping up the youth camp today, the Georgia College & State University baseball program and head coach Tom Carty will host their Individual Camp for ages 9-12 from June 22-25 at John Kurtz Field.
Sessions will run the full day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with focus ranging from basic fundamentals to advanced skills and techniques. Each camper will receive instruction in the areas he and his coach believe require the most attention. The camp will have a limited enrollment to ensure continual instruction for all participants. Each session will include drill work, batting cage use, scrimmage games, live hitting on the field and focus on fundamentals.
Carty just wrapped up his second year at the helm of the Bobcat baseball program, after spending two seasons as an assistant coach. Prior to joining the Bobcats, he held positions at a variety of collegiate levels, including four seasons with Division I Marshall University as pitching coach. Five former Bobcats from Carty's tenure continue to play in the professional baseball ranks.
The clinic is $160 and includes a lunch. For more information or to make a reservation, visit the Bobcat Camps website at www.GCSUCamp.com or contact Patti Weimer at 478-445-6341.
