Former GCSU Pitcher Takes Over Reigns at Greenbrier
AUGUSTA, Ga. - Former Georgia College & State University pitcher Chris Wilkins was recently named the head varsity baseball coach at Augusta-area Greenbrier High School.
Greenbrier has produced numerous baseball players at Georgia College, including a pair from the 2008 squad in senior all-region reliever Michael Newman (Evans, Ga.) and sophomore third baseman Brooks Robinson (Evans, Ga.).
Wilkins spent two injury-plagued seasons with the Bobcats in 2000 and 2001 after transferring from South Georgia College. The righty unfortunately never saw any game action, as arm trouble shortened his career. Wilkins did receive a Bachelor of Arts in management from GCSU.
