AIKEN, S.C. - Junior shortstop ChandlerSnell (Loganville, Ga.) of the No. 20 Georgia College & State University baseball team (37-19) was chosen to the NCAA Southeast Regional All-Tournament Team, the NCAA announced recently.
The lone Bobcat on the 11-member squad, Snell hit .750 (6-8) at the tournament, driving in four runs and scoring twice in two games. Snell opened with a 2-for-4 effort against No. 21 Catawba College, ripping a pair of doubles while scoring once and driving in one. Against Belmont Abbey College, he fired off four hits in as many trips, with three RBI and a run.
The Bobcats were 37-19 in the 2009 campaign, the second under head coach Tom Carty. Georgia College finished third in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC), making their third trip to the NCAA Tournament in the last four seasons. The Bobcats wound up the season with 154 stolen bases, tying the school record set in 1985.
