Bobcat Baseball Remains in Nation’s Top Marks

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College & State University baseball team and head coach Tom Carty stumbled through a 2-3 week, but kept slots in the three national Division II baseball polls.

The Bobcats dropped four slots to No. 17 in the latest Collegiate Baseball Magazine Division II Poll. GCSU is third among the five Peach Belt Conference (PBC) teams listed, as No. 2 USC Aiken and No. 9 Francis Marion University own slots above the Bobcats. No. 22 Armstrong Atlantic State University and No. 29 UNC Pembroke fall behind Georgia College.

In the PING! Baseball National Top-30, Georgia College dropped four slots to No. 21. USCA is 10th, and FMU is 14th.

For the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, GCSU earned the No. 25 slot. USCA owns the No. 7 spot, with FMU at No. 18. Georgia College dropped 11 spots in this poll.

Georgia College looks forward to the PBC Tournament this weekend, May 9-10 at Roberto Hernandez Stadium in Aiken, S.C. The Bobcats will try to take their first PBC Tournament title in school history, starting with a game against UNCP at 12:30 p.m. May 9.
