MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Junior catcher Pete Paris (Scranton, Pa.) of the No. 13 Georgia College & State University baseball team (36-14, 15-9 PBC) was named GCSU Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 26. This is the first such honor for Paris and the fourth for the Bobcat baseball team this season.
Paris hit .500 (7-14) for the five-game week, powering the Bobcats to a 5-0 record. He exploded in the doubleheader Saturday against the University of Montevallo, going 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI and two runs in game one. In game two, he blasted a two-run shot and then a grand slam, finishing 3-for-4 with six RBI and three runs scored.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, May 2 at 12:30 p.m. hosting Augusta State University in a doubleheader.
