MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Junior centerfielder Sean Harrell (Martinez, Ga.) of the No. 6 Georgia College & State University baseball team was named the GCSU Athlete of the Week, the sports information office announced today (March 17). This is the first honor for Harrell and the second for the Bobcats (17-6, 7-2 PBC) this season.
Harrell helped the Bobcats to a 5-0 week, getting multi-hit contests in four of the five for a .500 (9-for-18) average overall. He started the week 2-for-3 with a double and triple, scoring twice and driving in the win over No. 27 Pfeiffer University. The next day against the Falcons, he was 3-for-4 with a double and a run. After a 2-for-3 effort in the series opening win against No. 7 North Georgia, he pounded out five RBI on a three-run home run and a single Saturday, all in the same inning.
The Bobcats put their six-game win streak on the line tomorrow, March 18 at 2 p.m. when they travel to the University of West Georgia.
