MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Getting seven hits and six RBI from the top four spots in the order, the Georgia College & State University baseball team (13-6) beat Pfeiffer University (16-6-1) 8-4 tonight (March 10) at John Kurtz Field.
The Bobcats found themselves down 4-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth, but rebounded with seven runs over the next two innings for the win.
Georgia College plated two in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Derek Johns (Waynesville, Ga.) and a Buddy Elmore (Dallas) RBI double. The big five-run inning followed, as ChandlerSnell (Loganville, Ga.) drove in two with a single, and Sean Harrell (Martinez, Ga.) added two more with a triple down the right field line.
Junior lefty Ryan Tabor (Lawrenceville, Ga.) grabbed the win (2-1) with an inning of relief, allowing two hits and no runs. Falcon reliever Casey Smith (2-1) took the loss in just 2/3 of an inning, fanning one but allowing four runs on four hits.
Junior leftfielder Kyle Allen (Conyers, Ga.) was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs, while Harrell finished 2-for-3 with two runs and two driven in. Elmore was also 2-for-4.
For the Falcons, Conference Carolinas Player of the Week Will Davis was 3-for-5 with two RBI and centerfielder Ethan Marsh smacked his first home run of the season.
The Bobcats now lead the all-time series 3-2. The season series finishes tomorrow, March 11 with a single game at 3 p.m.
