SAVANNAH, Ga. - On the strength of a 5-0 week, the Georgia College & State University baseball team made a nine-slot jump to No. 18 in the most recent Collegiate Baseball Magazine Division II National Poll, released earlier this week.
For the third straight week, the Bobcats take a spot in the nation's top 30, this No. 18 matching the highest of the three set Feb. 9.
The Bobcats are second among four Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schools, coming in behind No. 10 North Georgia, and ahead of No. 22 Lander University and No. 29 Francis Marion University.
Georgia College swept all five games this week, beating Columbia Union College 4-2 and 22-2 before taking a three-game set from PBC foe Armstrong Atlantic State 5-3, 7-6 and 7-2. The Bobcats have won eight straight and have allowed four runs or less in eight of their 13 games thus far.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 4:30 p.m. for a single game at Valdosta State University.
