Georgia College Cross Country Squads Each Predicted Third in PBC

MARTINEZ, Ga. - Both the men's and women's cross country teams at Georgia College & State University were selected third in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Preseason Coaches Poll, the conference office released Aug. 18.
The Bobcat men picked up a pair of second place votes and no choices below fourth. The women got five third-place votes and just one below fifth.
Columbus State University earned top honors on both sides, followed by Augusta State University on the women's side and Clayton State University on the men's. North Georgia followed the Bobcats in both polls.
Georgia College has all starters returning on both the men's and women's sides, including two former All-PBC harriers on the women's side and one on the men's. The Bobcat men took third, the women fourth at last year's PBC Championships on the West Campus Cross Country Course.
The Bobcats kick off the 2009 season Friday, Aug. 28 at 5 p.m., hosting the second annual Bobcat Invitational.
