Madness Update: Three-Point Contestants Revealed, Cheer and Dance Teams to Perform

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Midnight Madness comes to Georgia College & State University's Centennial Center Oct. 14-15 with doors opening at 10 p.m., and Bobcat fans will be treated to a full slate of events.

The Bobcat Athletic Department is proud to announce that the award-winning Georgia College cheerleading and dance teams will hold perform as part of the festivities leading up to midnight. The Bobcat cheerleading team took fourth at nationals a year ago, and the Sassy Cats Dance Team has won the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championship as recently as 2007.

Head men's basketball coach Terry Sellers also revealed the three-point shootout competitors for his team today, as a quartet of seniors will work their way around the perimeter. Graham Martin (Marietta, Ga.), Ty Rowland (Lilburn, Ga.), Jake Rios (Bozeman, Mt.) and Jordan Poole (Warner Robins, Ga.) will all square off in a mini-tournament for the honor of long-distance titleholder.

It all starts at 10 p.m. with the crowd-grabbing free pancakes, thanks to the Macon Fire Department.

Both teams are chomping at the bit to get the 2009-10 season started, and it should make for an exciting night. Bobcat fans should look for further updates as the date approaches.
