Salsa Club to Perform, GCSU Cheer Reunion and School of Business Night at Saturday Bobcat Hoops Doubleheader

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Milledgeville will spice up its Saturday as the Georgia College & State University's basketball teams take on Clayton State University Feb. 6 with halftime performances by the Salsa and Latin Dance Club.

The event, titled Salsa on the Sixth, will feature a three-minute performance by Georgia College's Salsa Club at both the men's and women's halftimes. Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 1:30 p.m. when the Bobcat women take the court, while men's hoops has a tip-off time of 3:30 p.m.

"We want to publicize our club as much as possible," said Adela Valcea, a member of the club. "We're always looking for new members. By performing at the game we're not only promoting our club, but we are giving the audience a show they will enjoy."

The Salsa and Latin Dance Club at GCSU encourages all interested students to attend a salsa club practice. The group practices Thursday nights at 8 p.m. in the MSU Lounge.

Also at Saturday's game, former Bobcat cheerleaders and former coach Jerry Fly will hold a reunion and be honored during halftime of the men's game.

Faculty and staff of the College of Business are also invited to attend the contest. For more information about the business school's presence at the game, contact Lurline West, Director of Business Student & Community Services, at (478) 445-1310 or via email at lurline.west@gcsu.edu
