MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Tennis programs get the 2017 Fall Season underway Friday, Sept. 8, splitting the squads up to two Middle Georgia Tournaments.
Bobcat Men’s Tennis seniors will head to the 2017 Southern Intercollegiate Championships, hosted by the University of Georgia. The draws have been released for that event. Junior Jannik Kumbier (Neumunster, Germany) is positioned in the Division II singles draw, and will take on the winner of Stathis Tsiranidis of Mercer University and Oli Noran of UNC Asheville. Pedro Ecenarro (Santiago de Compostella, Spain) will battle Georgia State University’s Sebastian Acuna in the second round. Ecenarro and Kumbier will also pair to battle Virginia Tech’s Mitch Harper and Jason Kras in doubles play.
The remaining members of the GC Men’s and Women’s Tennis teams will head to Macon for a tournament hosted by Middle Georgia State University.
Both tournaments will give Bobcat fans their first glance at the new-look Bobcats, as both teams come off successful runs in 2017 that ended in the NCAA Regionals.
