MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia College Athletics, the GC Thunder Crew student spirit group and the Student Government Association are proud to announce more details for Bobcat Madness Wednesday, Oct. 17, the doors opening at 7:30 p.m.
The tailgate prior to the event will feature 2012 GC Battle of the Bands contestant “Tha Hugs”. In addition, the Thunder Crew will provide free hot dogs to all while supplies last.
Once inside, Bobcat fans can take advantage of free popcorn and sign up for Bobcat Fan Rewards. Four lucky fans will be chosen to compete in the 3-Ball Shootout, teaming with Bobcat men’s and women’s basketball players for free stuff at local businesses and plenty of GC gear.
The Sassy Cats, Cheerleaders and GC Pep Band will perform, leading into the intersquad scrimmages, a pair of high-energy, offensive showdowns. New GC President Dr. Steve Dorman will coach one team, with Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students Dr. Bruce Harshbarger taking the reins of the other squad.
At the end of the night, one lucky member of Bobcat Nation will take a half-court shot for $10,000.
Serving as the annual kickoff to the Bobcat basketball season, Georgia College holds the annual high-energy Madness event to introduce Bobcat Nation to the basketball teams, having a lot of fun in the process.
