MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women’s cross country team had a strong academic finish, edging out Bobcat women’s tennis for this year’s top team GPA honors. The GC women harriers posted a 3.46 GPA combined for the two semesters, leading six of the Bobcat varsity sports with over a 3.0.
Women’s cross country ranked third after the fall semester at 3.33, but upped the ante with a 3.61 in the spring. Women’s tennis was a close second at 3.41. Women’s soccer came in third, just .01 behind at 3.40.
Bobcat men’s cross country was the top men’s program for Georgia College in fourth overall at 3.2028, edging GC softball at 3.2021.
The sixth and final program above a 3.0 was Bobcat women’s basketball at 3.14. The 10 varsity sport department as a whole was above a 3.0 again at 3.1, owning a 3.06 in the fall and 3.14 in the spring semester. Bobcat student-athletes posted a higher GPA then the remainder of the student body at the school during the 2012-13 school year.
