MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) collected money for a raffle during the Bobcat basketball season, in an effort to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The season-long project culminated March 2, pulling in over $2,400 for the cause.
The SAAC raffle gave 10 percent of the proceeds to the winner, with 90 percent going to Make-A-Wish.
“The SAAC has worked hard this school year to put together creative opportunities to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation,” said Ginger Chaffinch, assistant athletic director. “We made great strides last year in our generating funds for this great cause, and we hope to continue those successes through events like these.”
Through the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Bobcat student-athletes have the opportunity to give back to the community. The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. This caring foundation has changed the lives of many children.
