Bobcat Cross Country Adds Cary as GA Coach

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College cross country program and head coach Joe Samprone announced the addition of Steven Cary as a first-year Graduate Assistant Coach.

“Steven is a valuable addition to the cross country program,” said Samprone. “As an experienced cross country runner, Steven will be able to assist me in all aspects of team training.”

Brother of former Bobcat harrier Tim Cary (2007-10), Steven Cary ran four seasons at Division II Valdosta State University from 2006-09.

He returned to the Blazer cross country squad as a student-assistant coach for the 2010 season under head coach Todd Smoot. Steven Cary received his undergrad degree in English at VSU and will pursue a master’s in human performance.

The Bobcat cross country teams open the 2011 season at home, Friday, Sept. 2 to host the Bobcat Invitational.
