Bobcat Cross Country Releases 2010 Schedule

>>>Full Schedule

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College & State University cross country team and head coach Joe Samprone released its 2010 schedule Wednesday.  The Bobcat men’s and women’s runners will compete in at least four events preceding the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) meet and NCAA Regionals.

The fall semester begins at home Sept. 10 where the Bobcats will run in the Second Annual Bobcat Invitational on the West Campus course.
The next meet will be in nearby Macon, Ga. when the Bobcats will compete in the Run Fit Invitational at Mercer University on Sept. 18.  Last year the women raced to a fifth place finish of the 20 teams competing.  The men finished ninth of the 16-team field.
A week later, the team travels to Charleston, S.C. for the 30th Annual Will Wilson Citadel Invitational which will take place at James Island County Park.

The Bobcats close the regular season out in a Tri-meet event Oct. 23 at Augusta State University (ASU) where they will race the home team ASU Jaguars, as well as the University of Montevallo Falcons.  This should prepare the team for their PBC Championship meet in nearby Evans, Ga. on Nov. 6, where the women finished second and men finished fifth in 2009.

Nov. 20 marks the NCAA Southeast Regional in Charlotte, N.C. at McAlpine Park near the campus of Queens University where the team hopes improve on a 2009 campaign in which the women finished an impressive 4th of the 23 teams competing and the men wound up 11th.
